At the initiative of the Caucasus Institute today a seminar-discussion on "Shadow economy" was organized in the cabinet of the government of the Republic of Artsakh, with a group of employees of the AR Ministry of Finance. The seminar was conducted by Hrant Mikayelyan, a researcher at the Caucasus Institute. Hrant Melikyan presented the methodology used in international practice for calculating the index of the shadow economy, as well as the methodology applied by the author in his book “The Shadow Economy in Armenia.The speaker also presented a number of issues and ways of solving them, as well as answering the questions of the participants.
At the end of the meeting, H. Mikayelyan noted that such discussions will be periodic.
